prominence_glow[The feed flickers on to... the view of Lea's knee. Riveting. After a moment of fiddling with the SFC, Lea finally steps back, revealing that he's in a slightly more cleared area of Stein's yard. You can tell it's Stein's because hi there building full of stitches in the background.]
Alright, it's rolling... Um, hi there, everyone. I figure a lot of you already know about Chocobos- I mean, Selphie's pretty excited about them and stuff, and Stein has his thing, but someone kind of made me realize that you probably don't know, well, much beyond that they're giant birds. So I thought maybe I'd kind of teach more about 'em? I mean, just a little bit.
[Giving a whistle, Lea waits patiently as a rather large red bird comes trotting into view. Alex stops besides his fellow redhead, looking rather happy and affectionate as he's petted.]
This is a chocobo. Alex is still growing a bit, but I think he's kinda almost an adult by choco-standards. He's, like, what? Six feet tall right now? They can hit seven, which I think is the average, more or less. Iunno, Stein might know more. They come in all sorts of different colors, and the color will tell you the kind of abilities they have and where they generally live. Yellow's the most common, 'tho, and I think you can find them all over.
But Alex is red!
[He just about glows with pride and love as he hugs the red chocobo about the neck.]
Red Chocobos are known for being both really fast and really good at traversing mountains. See, I'll show you. [He comes close to reach for something by the SFC and pulls back with a small rubber dog toy stuffed full of greens. He turns around to face the building and winds his arm up before throwing the toy high up onto the roof.] Go get it, Alex!
[In a flash, the red chocobo is sprinting towards the building. Without hesitating, it gives a strong leap, digging his talons into the walls and using the stitches as places to grip. Alex uses his wings as well, flapping up the areas where there isn't anything to grip until he can find a hold again. Rather quickly, he reaches the roof. There's a loud and proud 'WARRRRK' signalling he's found the greens. Lea turns to smile at the SFC.]
See? Quick and good at climbing. So that's red Chocobos. Next is brown.
[There's something softer and quieter in Lea's expression as he clicks his tongue softly and bends down, gesturing for something off-screen. Finally, a pale brown Chocobo with some white splotches on her chest strides into view, around the size of a large dog. Lea pets her as well once she's close enough.]
This is Myde. She's a sweetheart, seriously. [He's lost in his thoughts for a moment, just petting her contentedly. Finally, he snaps out of it.]
O-Oh! Anyway, brown Chocobos live in the desert, for the most part, and they have a really neat trick. Now, see, I banged into something earlier today, and it left a bruise. [Rolling up his shirt, he reveals the rather large blotch on his ribs. Myde is already poking her head at it, and before Lea can stop her, opens up her beak to gently press her tongue against it and giving a lick. She pulls back with a quiet 'kweh'. The spot where she licked is glowing a soft green, and the skin begins to slowly lose its bruised disposition. Lea grins and scratches the back of his neck.]
Heh... Anyway, like you can see, brown Chocobo have some sort of healing factor in their spit. It just works for physical stuff like bruises and cuts. I dunno how far she can heal just yet, since she's still pretty young, but I guess I'll just wait and see. Um, lessee... I'd show you guys Asi, but he's still just a baby...
Oh! Radi!
[While Myde wanders off, a VERY large chocobo strides into view. He's yellow, and looks rather annoyed at being badgered by Lea. Lea? Doesn't seem to notice.]
This is Radi! As you can see, he's just a plain ol' yellow chocobo, but he's a lot taller than most of the others, like, a foot taller. He's pretty stoic and well-trained, too! He seems used to carrying heavy stuff around, so I figured he's used to, like, carrying stuff for merchants, or maybe even armor? I saw some in the shop designed for chocobos, so, it's definitely a thing.
But anyway, he did this really neat thing earlier, and I wanted to show you! So, g'on, Radi! Do the thing!
[He gestures wildly, but Radi just stands there, looking unimpressed. He continues to do so even when Lea starts to clamber over him and whine and other such annoying things. Eventually, with a loud 'WARK', he bucks the poor kid off. While Lea is still recovering, Radi opens his beak wide... And fire starts to swirl in the center of its mouth. Looks like a itty bitty meteor. With a yelp, Lea scrambles away and throws up a Protect shield. When the small meteor hits, dust floods the area and blocks the SFC's camera.
The Choco Meteor, everyone, give the bird a hand.
There's more yelping, and a fair bit of scrambling, and claws stomping on the ground along with angry chocobo noises, and then the SFC is kicked. The screen tumbles a bit before landing, its view upside down and just able to catch Lea running like hell with an angry Radi on his tail.]
